HOW DOES SCHEDULING NEWBORN PHOTOS WORK? | SPOKANE, WA NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER

Curious how scheduling newborn photos works in Spokane, Washington? Here’s a little look into the process

  1. Choose a photographer

This is of course the first step, you have to choose a photographer that you like and that has availability to work with you. A word of caution, do not choose a photographer that is too busy, they may have difficulty getting to you fast enough to preserve those early newborn details. Ask your photographer how many sessions they do in a week and how their particular scheduling process looks. I have other posts about how to choose the best newborn photographer for you in Spokane, so check the archives if this is something you need help with!

  2. Tell your photographer your due date

Great job, you’ve chosen a photographer that you believe will represent your family in a way that feels right in your pictures. The next step is to tell your photographer your due date and get on their schedule. When I ask for due date, it is not because I am planning to hassle you about if your baby is here yet. Your due date tells me a 4 week window (two weeks before, and two weeks after) when your baby may arrive. This allows me to keep extra flexibility in my schedule to get your pictures done in a timely manner and to not schedule too many sessions around your due date. I want to make every client I work with, feel like they are the only one, like they have my full undivided attention. Asking for your due date is one way that I accomplish that.

  3. When you’re ready, reach out.

For most families, “ready” looks like, we are home and settled from the hospital, have spent at least a night or two at home, have a meal plan for the day and have taken a shower. When you feel ready to have me come over with my camera, send me a simple text and I’ll offer you some picture days within the next week.

  4. If you’ve already had your baby.

Sometimes we can’t plan ahead, babies come early or planning for your new baby gets chaotic, I totally get it. Getting husband on board with plans for newborn pictures sometimes takes the arrival of that baby to accomplish. If you’ve already had your baby, not to worry! I always keep room in my schedule each week to workin in extra newborn sessions should one come up. Reach out when you’re ready for pictures in the next 3-5 days and I’ll be there.
